A Good Life

I recently found dozens of negatives and hundreds of slides at my parent's house. Some were taken by my father and grandmother, and some we're unsure of their original photographer. I'm presenting them all out of order and without context, as if it is the life of one person, being lived out in snapshots, hidden in a storage closet.

A Good Life is an ongoing project.

Late Night Today: Day One

"For years, George Stanton has stood out from the rest as a Late Night Icon. But, as times change, he has found himself out of touch and is forced off his own show. Now, with the help of an intern-turned producer, George must broadcast his own revolution in the last place that will take him: Public Access Television. Late Night Today follows the fall-and-rise of the biggest name in television as he tries to find a place in a world that has left him behind; where the course of a life hangs on a single moment. He’s done it before, but in this brave new world, can he do it again?"

Written & Directed by: Anthony Peduzzi (who is great, check him out here

Director of Photography: Ralph DiLillo (who is killing it, check him out here)

Production for Late Night Today (link) started this past weekend and this set is SO GREAT. Knowing that your friends are talented is cool but getting to see your friends actually do what they're great at in person is so incredible. The sets have been so beautiful, thanks to production designer, Shannon Dailey (see her reel here). Also, everyone knows I could go on for hours about how talented Eric Swader is in the lead role. (hi, you).

I'm surrounded by people who are so, so obnoxiously talented and they asked me to document their movie making process. I'm a lucky gal.

There will be updates over the next two weeks. Check out the stills from the first shoot below!

Weekenders: Pymatuning Lake

I recently fell victim to all of the ~autumn vibes~ and snuck up to Pymatuning with Eric to shoot the fall foliage. This is how it went:

A Week in New York: Highlights

Brooklyn Museum & Exploring Park Slope

We got into the city in the early morning and spent the day exploring Park Slope and the Brooklyn Museum. The museum had some great exhibits and the building itself is beautiful. We took a nighttime walk through Prospect Park.

Natural History Museum & The Met

We traveled into Manhattan to see the Natural History Museum and the Met. I walked just under 14 miles. My knees exploded somewhere around mile 7. We got Eric his first slice of NYC pizza and then got the best cupcakes I have ever had in my life.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden & Brooklyn Bridge

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is free on Saturday mornings and it was absolutely beautiful. It’s massive and not crowded in the early morning. We also tackled the Brooklyn Bridge.

Coney Island & Brighton Beach

We hit Coney Island in the early morning and we loved it. We played too much ski-ball and won a key chain and Eric’s weight in candy. We also did the Wonder Wheel, which is the tallest ferris wheel in the world, and TERRIFYING. We spent the afternoon running around on Brighton Beach. It’s stunning.

Top of the Rock & Late Night w/ Seth Meyers

On our last day in New York, we planned to take a few pictures in Rockefeller Center and then take a walk through central park. Eric ended up surprising me with tickets to Top of the Rock which was stunning. (hi thanks eric). While walking through the NBC store (gotta get that Law and Order: SVU merch), an intern offered us free tickets to Seth Meyers’ Late Show monologue rehearsal! We weren’t allowed to take pictures (thanks NBC) but we got to hang out in the Late Show studio and watch the show come together, it was so cool (no seriously, thanks NBC.)

We did so much in between all of these photos too. We walked over 100,000 steps while in the city and ate like… 12 too many cupcakes. This trip to New York was exhausting, but so worth it.
